The "Elephant" Story
In the world of print, the Sappi International Printer of the Year award (the "Sappi Elephant") is the "Oscar of Printing".
Most printers dream of winning it once. Pragati has won it three times (2006, 2008, 2010)—a feat unmatched by any printer in Asia.
But 2010 was special. For the first and only time in history, the global awards ceremony was moved from its traditional venue to the city of the winning printer—Hyderabad.
When Mr. Hanumantha Rao was presented with the Sappi Elephant on his home soil, his son Narendra Paruchuri marked the moment with words that define our journey:
"My father who started this company has received the Elephant. This is a moment of great pride. He started with a small machine 48 years ago, and today he has received the award as the best printer in the world. It has been a long journey."
